Life is like a soccer game, loosely pharaphrased from other loosely formed ideas of the same genre.

A game where, rain or shine, you still have to take to the pitch. There could be an audience of thousands, or none at all, but you still have to play.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. When the referee gives your team a penalty, it feels so unfair. The other team scores, but you hope to score again.

Each time you step onto the pitch, you notice that the ball is round, and anything can happen. You can kick the ball, sometimes it will curve the wrong way. Sometimes you pass the buck, other times you run with it.

But it is a team sport, everyone contributes. If you fall down, your teammates will be there to pick you up. If you screw up, your best mates will come back you up on defence. At the worst of times, you get substituted, and you may not play another game for the rest of your life.

But if you try hard enough, you will come back, score again, and enjoy the adulation of the thousands. Or the one, who've always stood by you since the beginning.

And that's the dream of millions...
