37000ft over the Pacific at night.

Japan appears en masse below us on the starboard side of the aircraft.

It's quite beautiful, the networks of lights beneath resembling either a string of pearls (how nice), a bunch of neurons firing (how thoughtful), or a bunch of spiders mating (how...whatever).

I've seen two shooting stars already, and I've made two wishes. I'm just waiting for the next one, and have been for the last half hour.

Perhaps I'm a slight bit too greedy...
